How Botox Works

BOTOX has a temporarily stops the muscles in the areas injected from moving (a temporary paralysis). This erases the wrinkles that come from the motion of the muscles treated – restoring the youthful look of the face. The onset of the effect takes about 5-7 days, and lasts between 3-5 months on average.

Botox also has a lingering effect on the muscles injected – because the patients are no longer constantly using and overusing the treated muscles. This, in combination with a small amount of weakening in the treated muscles – increases the amount of time between repeated treatments Dr. Adelglass has many patients who come every 6 to 8 months only.
